Had enough of Hallam University yet?
So have we!

This Building

This building was illegally sold to Hallam University in 1998.

It was not put out to tender by the council

Adrenalin Studios offer for the building was ignored.

Hallam have broken contractual agreements concerning the sale

And now sold it for a vast profit to Yorkshire Forward

Hallam's capitalist activity is damaging businesses in the CIQ

This building was illegally sold to Hallam University in 1998. It was not put out to tender by the council at the time of the sale. The council's only reasoning for selling to Hallam was their apparent bigger agenda. This agenda was to move Psalter Lane Art college to this site, this was one of the conditions of the sale. Not only have they not adhered to this, but have now sold the building and the large plot of land for a enormous profit to Yorkshire Forward (Y F. remember the NCPM, "National Centre for Popular Music" this was bought from the very same people, Hallam paid £1.4 Mil for it, it's cost to build was £20 Mil. There is crossfertilization on these boards of directors) Adrenalin Studios made a higher offer for the building and were completely ignored, Adrenalin have rented this building for 15 years and spent an enormous amount of money on it. Hallam should not be allowed to capitalise on such activity, damage businesses, abuse tax payers money, and ignor the needs of the CIQ (Cultural Industies Quarter).

Adrenalin want this building back !

"Watch out Hallam's about"

Hallam University re-opened the "National Centre For Popular Music" on the 14th Feb as a students union. The NCPM was built from lottery funding, so its true ownership is that of the people. The BBC have questioned Hallam on the validity of the sale, including the 20 million (est.) it cost to build and the 1.4 million they bought it for. The questions will continue until we have the centre back. It is your heritage, YOU OWN A PART OF IT ! Hallam have convinced many people of Sheffield they were doing us a favour by buying it - RUBBISH! Their concerns are solely to do with acquiring property in order to create vast profits. In the process they are putting many people out of business, completely abusing their monopoly and far worse.
Meetings are taking place at the moment concerning the possibility of the NCPM to be used as a Television centre. Such a project would put Sheffield on the map. In the process it would create thousands of jobs and great wealth for Sheffield. For further information / updates Please keep visiting the website www.rage-against-hallam.co.uk for updates.
